The Arte is a conservative feature phone so you get only a basic tri band GSM radio with class 10 GPRS/EDGE data speeds on 2G. But it’s also a 3G mobile phone on a single band UMTS with 383 kbps HSDPA data connectivity. There’s no WiFi but local data syncing gets served with the usual Bluetooth 2.0 and microUSB OTG.

Phone memory gets a generous 1 GB with up to 1,000 phonebook entries but there’s no microSD expansion slot. It is powered by a slim 1,000 mAh Li-Ion BL-4U battery that gets you up to 3 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time on a single charge.

As a fashion phone, the Nokia 8800 Arte succeeds as a head turner in the looks department. To say that it feels solid in your head can be an understatement for something so small and so heavy.
