You get a set of stereo speakerphones and a TV-out jack for using an outboard TV or monitor to show off your captured videos and images to friends and has a 3.5mm audio jack for using your favorite high fidelity stereo headsets. Alternatively, you can opt to go wireless on stereo listening from its A2DP profile support over Bluetooth.
This time around, the 8GB variant has 8 GB of internal memory but without the microSD expandability of the older N95. While some may feel shortchanged as its older model can now benefit from the larger 16GB microSD cards, the new version has taken a few steps ahead to make it superior to the first. It still retains the same unique dual slider form factor with the same body dimensions at 99 x 53 x 21mm but 8g heavier at 128g.
Superior Features
For starters, the N95 8GB gets a 0.2 inch larger display at 2.8 inches but sports the same QVGA resolution and 16 million color depth. It also has a gravity accelerometer for auto rotate viewing convenience. It would have been great if Nokia has improved its battery life, but its larger screen managed to require a larger 1200mAh Li-Ion battery that now delivers an even shorter talk time at 6 hours on 2G but a longer 280 hours on standby.
It loses the card slot but it looks like the 8GB memory chip added to its electronics gobbles up more power. There’s now twice RAM at 128 MB for system files.
The N95 8GB has the same quad band GMS (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) radio on the 2G/GSM networks to take care of international roaming for its market with the penchant to go overseas frequently.
It now has a better class 32 GPRS/EDGE data speeds of up to 296 Kbps. It gets 3G coverage on its single band UMTS/HSDPA (2100) radio but a dual band (850 / 1900) is available for US markets. It gets the same hotspot internet surfing support from its WiFi 802.11b/g with UPnP technology while local data connectivity comes with Bluetooth 2.0 and miniUSB 2.0 for wireless and wired data syncing and transfer, respectively.
You also get the same SatNav feature from its built-in GPS receiver that supports A-GPS with Nokia Maps preloaded.
Imaging gets the same stunning 5 megapixel autofocus camera in the N95 with LED flash and uses the Carl Zeiss optics. VGA video recording at 30fps is supported and it has a secondary QVGA camera for 3G video calls up front.
Your multimedia experience begins with a stereo FM radio with Visual Radio and media playback support for video content in WMV, RV, MP4 and 3GP codecs as well as audio content in the MP3, WMA, WAV, RA, AAC and M4A formats.

Ok, so the Nokia N95 8gb is the same as the Nokia N95 regular version but of course it has more space. The larger memory means the phone runs a little quicker and to be honest is a little better than the original N95. However, N series software problems are here again and the firmware isn’t 100% robust. Of course, this means the phone is likely to crash and freeze or shut down unexpectedly and this can be a real pain for users. Other than that, the phone has a great range of features and allows users to enjoy a smart phone from Nokia.
