Samsung B3310 deals

The Samsung B3310, also known as the B3313 Corby Mate in other markets, is a budget entry level feature phone sporting the full-QWERTY slider form factor from the world’s 2nd largest phone maker. It gets a trendy body measuring a compact but thick 91 x 54 x 15mm and weighing a slightly pocketable 101g.

One look at it with its shocking pink, blue or green keyboard and body colors, you know it’s pitched to the youthful crowd for their first handset or just wants an affordable upgrade from their bland uninteresting candybar basics. It also comes in black for those who prefer a more serious looking handset that could easily be mistaken for a smartphone.

The B3310 is a quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) that allows international roaming on the 2G network. It also comes with class 10 GPRS/EDGE data connectivity speeds for faster online experience with its WAP 2.0 HTML browser. As a budget QWERTY slider, there’s no 3G, WiFi or SatNav and its display real estate is an outdated 2-inch TFT LCD with 256k color depth without the gravity accelerometer for auto rotate viewing convenience you find in most handsets in this form factor.

You do get Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP for wireless high speed data transfers and syncing with other Bluetooth devices as well as miniUSB 2.0 for the wired option.

Imaging on the Samsung B3310 is likewise modest with a 2 megapixel fixed focus camera with QVGA recording at 15fps or less. But it does the job to allow captured video in small file sizes to get sent via MMS or even as Email attachments.

Your entertainment on the roads gives you options for a stereo FM radio with RDS and the media playback support for MP3 audio files and MP4/H.263/H.264 video files formats. A 3rd party apps uploaded to it could take care of other media codecs if needed. There’s no 3.5mm headphone jack but the A2DP profile support allows you to use those stereo Bluetooth earphones for wireless music listening.

There’s not much onboard memory to speak other than 40 MB and its capacity to store up to 1,000 phone book entries and record 30 dialed, 30 received and 30 missed calls. But you still get microSD external memory support for up to 8 GB.

There’s an 800 mAh li-ion battery for up to 5 hours of talk time and 380 hours of standby time when fully charged.
