Upscale Features on a Fashion Phone
The Armani Samsung handset is essentially a dressed-up Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 inside and out but with a louder get-up and a tilting display when fully slid out. The Armani version does get a more generous onboard memory of 8 GB compared to the 1GB on the more pedestrian version.
Other than these distinguishing features, both enjoy the same expansive 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with Wide VGA resolution and 16 million color capability that’s severely constrained to just 64k colors from a largely incapable Windows Mobile 6.5 OS.

They run the same 800 MHz Samsung S3C6410 CPU engine that gets a dedicated graphics processor. You also get a gravity accelerometer for auto-rotate landscape or portrait viewing as well as turn-face-down auto muting and canceling. The Windows OS gets a better cosmetic tweaking with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz 2.0 UI that features a novel Leisure and Work key that can toggle between personal and corporate homescreens for dual personality customization.
Like the Omnia PRO, the Armani version is a 3G phone on the tri band UMTS (900/1900/2100) with HSDAP at 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA at 5.76 Mbps on top of being a quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) with class 10 GPRS/EDGE data connectivity speeds on the 2G/2.5G network. You also get WiFi 802.11b/g with DLNA as well as Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and microUSB 2.0 for local data transfers.
Imaging on the Samsung B7620 Giorgio Armani gets a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and VGA video recording at a movie grade 30fps. Imaging features include face and smile detection, image stabilization, panorama shooting and geo tagging from its guilt-in GPS receiver for SatNav functionality as well.
It also comes with a secondary 3G video call camera. Multimedia is supported by a stereo FM radio with RDS and the media playback support for the common audio and video file formats including DivX/Xvid video. It has a 3.5mm AV jack with TV-out support as well as A2DP profile for wireless stereo listening.
Other features include a mobile tracker in case it gets lost and is preloaded with the usual document viewer for PDF and MS Office files, a business card scanner and some fashion applications from Armani. It gets a generous 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery for up to 11.5 hours of talk time and 590 hours of standby time.
