Why compare with us?

Launched alongside the Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Ace, the Samsung Galaxy Gio is part of Samsung´s new affordable range of Galaxy handsets. These offer to provide a similar experience to the highly popular Galaxy S while coming with a much smaller price tag. When seeking to reduce the cost of manufacturing phone companies typically choose to drop Wi-Fi and 3G from a phones specifications, but fortunately this is not the case with the Galaxy Gio. Because of this the Gio remains an excellent messaging phone while at the same time coming with a much more agreeable price tag.

Some of the fantastic messaging features to be found on the Galaxy Gio include threaded SMS, MMS, email and instant messaging. The Gio comes with Android 2.2 Froyo as its operating system and as such comes with particularly great support for Gmail and Google Talk. Other email and IM clients can be downloaded from the internet for use with the Gio. The Samsung Galaxy Gio comes with Samsung´s TouchWiz interface that provides excellent integration for social networks like Facebook and Twitter, and also comes with preinstalled support for Swype that allows you to type at much faster speeds.

Two of the most identifiable features that make the Gio a little bit better than its siblings handsets include the LED flash that comes with the 3.15 megapixel camera (the other phones don´t feature a flash), and also the slightly faster 800MHz processor that makes interacting with the phone much more seamless. Other features of the Gio´s camera include geo-tagging and QVGA video recording, and the Gio also comes with Picasa integration allowing you to easily upload photos to the internet to share with others.

The Gio also comes with YouTube integration so you can quickly and easily stream your favourite videos from the popular online service. An FM radio is also included, which comes with RDS support, so you can also listen to the latest smash hits. The Gio comes with 158MB internal storage space but this can be expanded with microSD cards, although the microSD capacity is slightly smaller than the other Galaxy phones at just 16GB. A 2GB microSD card is however included with the handset. The Gio comes with fantastic support for music and video playback as well, so you can never be short of entertainment with this device.

With Wi-Fi and 3G available the Gio is an excellent messaging phone and comes with many other features to compliment this. It is also a great little phone for all sorts of online activities such as general web browsing, social networking or watching videos on YouTube.
