The Samsung M8800 Pixon is a great new camera phone from Samsung which is said to be rivaling the C905 from Sony Ericsson. The Samsung M8800 has an 8 mega pixel camera, yes you read that right, 8 mega pixels. The phone is very good looking with a large touch screen display and you can control all the features and applications from this. The phone has high speed broadband internet of 7.2 mbps and this means you can download and upload files with ease and haste. You can also take advantage of the various other high quality features that this phone has to offer.

Specifications

The phone’s main feature is of course the 8 mega pixel camera which in itself has a variety of features such as face detection, smile detection, blink detection and advanced shake reduction. You’re also able to use geo-tagging and the phone has an auto panorama shot facility. This camera also has auto focus and a flash plus you can record video at 30 frames per second. This camera really is amazing and because it’s built into such a small and sleek looking phone you’ll be amazing at the quality of shots it can take.

The phone also has high speed internet at 7.2 mbps which is faster than average broadband speeds at home. You can use the internet to send and receive emails, upload content, download content and even surf the web for fun. The phone also has a media player which is compatible with MP4 and DivX encoded media files which allow you to watch movies and exciting media right on your phone. The phone also has a large memory of 200MB as standard which can be expanded up to 8GB with micro SD cards. This means you can store a lot of videos, photos and other files on your phone with ease.

Looks

The phone has a very good look to it and is of superior quality than any other phone I’ve ever seen. It’s got a large touch screen display which is really easy to use and is sensitive to touch the way it should be. The display is about 3.2 inches and is 240 by 400 pixels so is very good quality – this means you can enjoy the movies and photos you record and take on a high quality and high resolution display. The phone itself is about 107.9mm by 54.6mm by 13.8mm in dimensions and weighs about 121 grams so isn’t the smallest phone in the world but it certainly is one of the most stylish.

The stylish and sophisticated design of this phone is ideal for anyone and currently the phone is only available in black – which I have to say is a little limiting but having said that, the design is so nice that black is probably the colour that suits it most anyway. The design of the exterior of the phone is flawless and I have to say I haven’t seen a phone that is as well made as this one in a long time.

Design

The design of the interior applications is amazing and the internal software used on this phone is some of the highest quality software available on the market. The applications all run smoothly and well together and you’re likely to get a lot of compliments if you’re seen using this phone. The design on the outside matches the design on the inside – sleek, stylish and highly sophisticated. You’re unlikely to find a phone that is as well design as this one – especially with all the fantastic features inside as well. It is a very well made phone and I have to say I’d be very pleased if I could get my hands on one of these.

Overall

All in all, this is one of the best phones on the market and I have to say is probably the best phone that Samsung have ever released. The 8 mega pixel camera and its features rival that of standalone digital cameras and the entertainment features on this phone are amazing. I’ve never seen a phone that is made with such high quality materials either – you can tell that the handset has been made to withstand a lot of use and it’s really easy to use as well.

The thing I like about this phone is the fact that even a novice phone user could get to grips with this phone and really enjoy all the features. Although it’s high tech it is still useable by anyone and you don’t have to be a whizz with mobile phones to enjoy the features – and learning the features will only take a few minutes. The touch screen display is easy to use and responds well to interaction from the user. You’ll really be able to spend hours with this phone and still not have worn it out. The features are great and I’d say that even a business user could use this phone and enjoy it.

The business features available are limited but you could use this phone to keep up to date while you’re out of the office because of the document viewer. The colours available are limited but that doesn’t mean the phone doesn’t look great. You can customise the settings to suit your needs and I have to say that I really am considering this phone for my next purchase. It’s incredible and I think you’ll agree if you decide to purchase this phone. It has everything you could ever need for personal and entertainment use and even has extra features which will please a business user.
