The Samsung Wave 578 is another addition to Samsung´s popular range of affordable smartphones. While the Wave 578 offers even more affordability than the original Wave, it also still comes with an extensive range of features to keep you entertained. The Wave 578 runs on the Bada operating system, with Samsung´s TouchWiz interface in place as well.

TouchWiz has been successfully implemented on many of Samsung´s other top handsets and it widely noted for its excellent social network integration. Social networks like Facebook and Twitter are well integrated into the Wave 578 and the phone also includes live updates, so that you need never be kept out of the loop again.

The Facebook integration can also be used to quickly upload images captured on the phone´s 3.15 megapixel camera. While the camera is not the most spectacular on offer it comes with an excellent amount of everyday functionality and some great features like geo-tagging. It also provides QVGA video recording and on top of this the Wave 578 features a second VGA camera on the front that can be used for video calling.

As well as video calling, the Wave 578 provides many other methods for keeping in touch. SMS and MMS are both supported, as well as email, instant messaging and even RSS feeds. The Wave 578 has some good entertainment options including touchscreen games (with more available to download) and a media player that comes with excellent support for music and video. The Wave 578 has 100MB internal storage space for media content, but this can be expanded with 16GB microSD cards. The Wave 578 also comes with a nice little FM radio with RDS for more musical entertainment.

The Wave offers a good range of smartphone features including many entertainment and online options to keep you occupied. The camera is not amazing but suffices for everyday use, and the Wave comes with excellent messaging features including very good support for popular social networks like Facebook.
