Known elsewhere as the Galaxy Spica and the Galaxy Lite, the Samsung i5700 Galaxy Portal rebranded under T-Mobile is a new Android handset from Korea’s leading smartphone maker, Samsung.
Measuring a relatively slim 115 x 57 x 13.2 mm and weighing 124g which is on the heavy side as touchscreen monoblocks go, the Portal carries the flagship Galaxy brand for its Android line. It offers some leading edge features targeted to the tech savvy users with no qualms spending a few more for an upscale handset. Using a powerful 800 MHz engine to run the Android 1.5 Cupcake and the 2.1 Éclair platforms, the Portal is one of the most capable smartphones on the market.
