Ever wanted a phone that was, well, a little more impressive than just a phone? A phone that didn´t just look like every other phone out there. Something that worked just as well as all the other out there, but stood out from the crowd a little? Well, step back and enjoy the eye candy that is the Jalou. Details

Packed with features and all wrapped up in a very distinctive, facet-cut jewel form, this is a stylish addition to anyone´s life. Rarely before has a phone been so focused on making sure it´s as in tune with the fashion world as this little thing, but just check out the language being used by Sony Ericsson here: “Structured forms, intricate corners, hidden depths and jewel accents are set to be some of the hottest fashion trends in 2010. You can also expect to see deep and natural jewel colours on the runway next year. Jalou reflects these trends with its delicate facet-cut diamond shape design, clean and expressive lines and variety of different shine and matt finishes, that give depth to the handset.” So says one Charles Hunt, head designer of the Jalou over at Sony Ericsson. But he´s not done there: “The design team wanted the handset to reflect beauty found in nature. They looked at structure, strength and form in various crystalline jewels, which resulted in the unique shape.”

So there we have it, clearly Sony Ericsson intended for this thing to be as beautiful on the outside as it is inside for some uber chic communication. At only 73mm long the Jalou is also going to slip easily into even the tightest pair of skinny jeans, or wherever else you can think to conceal it! So while it may impress when you´ve got it out on show, you can also be confident that when you want to, you´ll be able to disappear.

The two-inch screen’s interesting design means that at the press of a button you´re suddenly looking into a two-inch mirror. That might not be enough to get ready for a night out, but it´ll certainly be useful for any mid-night pit stops you might need! The Jalou is also the first Sony Ericsson to feature something called the Walk Mate step counter, which helps you stay in shape wherever you go by telling you exactly how far you´ve walked, and in how long. There´s also an exclusive fashion interface which automatically updates with zodiac signs and special events throughout the year. Other features include the 3.2 megapixel camera, music player, video recording, 3G, Bluetooth, built-in FM radio and Internet where you can check your email, watch YouTube clips, Google, as well as upload your video and photos to your favourite social networking sites. And, as you´d expect, the Jalou will be available in a variety of gem inspired colours including: Deep Amethyst, Aquamarine Blue and Onyx Black.

“The new Jalou phone is all about looking great and sharing the good life,” said Linda Schori, Marketing Business Manager at Sony Ericsson. “We wanted to create a beautiful handset without compromising on style or content. It’s perfect for anyone who is sociable, loves fashion and wants to stay one step ahead of trends, because it has a fashion forward design you will want to show off. And, for such a compact handset, it has an immense amount of detail both inside and out.”

Conclusion

Probably not one that the man in your life is going to be all that impressed by, but hopefully your girlfriends will see the stylish side of you when you whip this thing out.

Enough features to keep you more than satisfied, and all wrapped up in a very, very distinctive looking case. If you like to stand out from the crowd, you can´t go far wrong with this thing.
