Why compare with us?

Sony Ericsson has always been able to dominate the music phone niche thanks to Sony´s many decades of experience in the music and entertainment industry. Being the company that developed Walkman´s and Compact Discs they have always been one of the companies spearheading development in the world of personal entertainment and their range of Walkman phones have always been a huge success for audiophiles the world over.

In terms of physical design the W8 is very similar to the Xperia X10 Mini and more recent Xperia Mini and Mini Pro, although it does come with an older version of Google Android that has been tweaked to provide an entertaining interface. This gives you four corners on your phone homescreen that can provide quick access to music features on the phone as well as other entertainment options such as YouTube.

The W8 comes with the Walkman media player and features including TrackID and PlayNow. There is 128MB internal storage for music and this can be upgraded to 16GB with microSD cards. The W8 also features an FM radio to provide you with another way of listening to your favourite tunes. The phone includes video recording support through its camera as well as 3G and Wi-Fi connections allowing you to make use of online features such as Facebook and Android Market.

Android Market can allow you to get some great games and apps for the W8 to complement those already on the phone. The W8 comes with support for a range of excellent Google features including Google Talk, YouTube and Google Maps with Street View. With this phone you are also provided with some great messaging options including threaded SMS and email support. The W8 is a great little phone for keeping yourself entertained as well as enjoying some fantastic web features on the move.
