The Zest II is a low-cost pay as you go phone from T-Mobile. Like its predecessor, the Zest E110, it is available for less than £15. It boasts improved features such as a higher memory capacity and the inclusion of Bluetooth.
The absence of mobile internet shows that this is a phone aimed towards undemanding users rather than power users who need the most up-to-date feature set.
Due to its simple nature, there is not a lot that can go wrong with this phone. Chinese manufacturer ZTE have done a great job of putting together a simple, tough little phone. The battery should last for five hours of talk time or 240 hours on standby and can be fully charged within two hours.
The Zest II phone is really easy to use. The philosophy of this phone is to put calling and texting to the foreground, with other features being easily accessible. Unlike iPhones or Android phones, there are no apps to install or contacts to match: it really is a case of what you see is what you get. The Zest II is going to be a big hit with anyone on a budget who just wants a phone for calling and texting.
The Zest E110 is even cheaper than the Zest but loses some key features such as Bluetooth connectivity. LG's Amigo is at a similar price and specification but it has no camera. Virgin Mobile’s VM665 is a little north of the £20 mark but has a much swisher design and also supports email.
