Review Summary:T-Mobile Zest II 3.5

The Zest II is a low-cost pay as you go phone from T-Mobile. Like its predecessor, the Zest E110, it is available for less than £15. It boasts improved features such as a higher memory capacity and the inclusion of Bluetooth.

The absence of mobile internet shows that this is a phone aimed towards undemanding users rather than power users who need the most up-to-date feature set.

T-Mobile Zest II Review

Introduction
The original T Mobile Zest E110 was a big hit with pay as you go customers. This update, the Zest II, shares the same rugged design and value for money as the first phone. Features such as the built-in torch, VGA Camera and MP3 player mean there should be more than enough to keep the casual user happy.
Design
The Zest II has a rugged, no-nonsense design. A large numeric keypad, call start and end buttons and a four-way navigation pad are all the buttons you will find on this phone. The physical dimensions are very small - it is just 12mm thick. Everything about this phone is focused on simplicity and usability. The white tones of the Zest E110 have been replaced with a glossy black finish and metallic detailing.
Features
The Zest II is not the most feature-rich phone on the planet, no surprises there considering the price of it. The VGA camera is quite robust and since Bluetooth has been included with this model it is now possible to share pictures. Also included are an MP3 player and FM Radio, for music on the go. The phone can take micro SD cards of up to 8GG, so there is plenty of room to store music and photos. Other features include calendar, stopwatch, calculator and even a built-in torch.
Performance

Due to its simple nature, there is not a lot that can go wrong with this phone. Chinese manufacturer ZTE have done a great job of putting together a simple, tough little phone. The battery should last for five hours of talk time or 240 hours on standby and can be fully charged within two hours.

Usability

The Zest II phone is really easy to use. The philosophy of this phone is to put calling and texting to the foreground, with other features being easily accessible. Unlike iPhones or Android phones, there are no apps to install or contacts to match: it really is a case of what you see is what you get. The Zest II is going to be a big hit with anyone on a budget who just wants a phone for calling and texting.

Also Consider

The Zest E110 is even cheaper than the Zest but loses some key features such as Bluetooth connectivity. LG's Amigo is at a similar price and specification but it has no camera. Virgin Mobile’s VM665 is a little north of the £20 mark but has a much swisher design and also supports email.
