Why choose Vodafone Sim Only?

Vodafone SIM Only contracts are generally cheaper than equivalent standard Vodafone contracts. This is because a phone is not included with SIM Only contracts, so the cost of a handset does not have to be factored into monthly charges.

Reasons to Choose Vodafone SIM Only:

  • 12 month, 90 day or 30 day options available.
  • Standard phone, Smartphone and BlackBerry tariffs.
  • Music, fashion and Formula 1 events with Vodafone VIP.

SIM Only contracts from Vodafone are available with 30 day, 90 day, or 12 month durations. These contracts are ideal for customers who are happy with their current phone. Because the cost of an expensive new handset is not factored into the monthly costs, SIM Only contracts are consistently cheaper than equivalent contracts with phones included, as well as offering flexible short contract terms.

Vodafone divide their SIM Only tariffs into three categories: Standard phone, Smartphone and BlackBerry. All three are available with 30 day, 90 day or 12 month durations, and all SIM only contracts from Vodafone offer unlimited texts.

Standard phone SIM Only contracts do not include mobile data use in their standard monthly allowances and instead include more free minutes than similarly priced Smartphone plans. Some Standard phone plans also include additional free minutes to Vodafone numbers.

Smartphone SIM Only contracts include a mobile data allowance of between 100 MB and 1 GB, but include fewer free minutes than similarly priced Standard phone plans. All Smartphone plans also include 750 MB of BT Openzone Wi-Fi access. BlackBerry plans are the same as Smartphone plans but with the additional inclusion of BlackBerry services and email.

Prices for Vodafone SIM Only contracts range from £10.50 to £31 per month. Customers who select longer contract durations receive higher allowances per month than customers on shorter contracts. For example, a customer on a £10.50 per month Standard SIM Only contract receives a monthly allowance of 300 minutes on a 12 month contract or 100 minutes on a 1 month contract.

Customers who select a SIM Only contract without an inclusive data allowance can either access the internet on a ‘pay as you browse’ basis or purchase one of Vodafone’s ‘Web Packs’.

  • Transfer Procedure
    • Buy your new SIM Only plan as normal. You will be issued with a new mobile number by Vodafone.
    • Get in touch with your previous network operator and request a ‘PAC’. This stands for ‘Porting Authorisation Code’ and is a code you need to move your number to a new network.
    • You should be given a PAC either immediately over the phone or by text message soon after you call.
    • When you have your PAC, call Vodafone and give them the code and your details. They should then be able to process your transfer
  • Data Allowance
    • All Smartphone and BlackBerry SIM Only contracts come with data allowances as part of the monthly fee. These range from 100 MB to 1 GB per month, depending on the contract.
    • Vodafone SIM Only customers can purchase a web pack to add data to their contract. These cost either £5 per month for a 500 MB data allowance or £15 per month for a 2 GB allowance.
    • Customers without an inclusive allowance or web pack can still access the internet through Vodafone’s network. This is charged at £1 per day and includes a 25 MB data allowance.
